Appointments

• We groom by appointment only. You can book over the phone, via email or social media. 

• Our cancellation policy insists you must give us 24hrs notice if you would like to cancel your appointment so that we have time to fill the gap. Failing to do so will result in a deposit on future bookings. You will also be charged 50% of your groom price.

• If you arrive early to drop your dog off or to collect your dog please remain in your car and give us a ring to say you are here. We may have our previous pooch on the table and distractions while we are holding scissors is not ideal. We may not be able to complete your dogs groom if they are too excited by your return! 

• Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are running late, please ring us, otherwise we may choose to reschedule for a later date.

• Appointment times are variable. We will always give you a ‘rough time’ when your dog should be ready. Please don't stray too far as we don't have the space to keep your dog occupied while grooming another. 

Prices 

• Our prices depend on many variables, the size of your dog being the main factor. We also take into consideration coat type, hairstyle requested and the behavior of your dog. We are always completely honest with customers about the way their dog behaves while in our care, the condition of the coat and what hairstyle may be better suited to their lifestyle.

• Any increase in price will be explained with plenty of notice. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.  

• We will charge a ‘daycare’ fee (from £10) if dogs are left with us without warning for much longer than we expected. Please keep your phone on you while your dog is in our care. 

• Severely matted dogs may incur an additional charge of up to £15 for the damage to equipment. 

 

Animal Welfare 

• The Dog Den reserve the right to stop grooming your dog at any time if your dog is becoming stressed, aggressive, or unwell. 

• If your dog requires urgent medical attention while in our care The Dog Den reserves the right to seek medical attention from Winterbourne Veterinary Clinic. Any fees incurred will be payable by the dog’s owner. 

• If you believe your dog has acquired an injury due to the grooming process you must seek veterinary advice within 24hrs. We will require a full veterinary report stating the cause of injury being specific to the grooming process for us to accept any liability or negligence. 

• The Dog Den will not be held liable to injuries caused in the grooming process due to the failure to disclose information regarding any physical injuries or medical conditions. Skin conditions should be discussed with The Dog Den on arrival as any rashes etc can be avoided using sensitive shampoo. 

• The Dog Den reserves the right to refuse to groom a dog that displays aggressive behavior.

• The Animal Welfare Act prohibits The Dog Den from de-matting a dogs coat for longer than 15 minutes. If a dog is severely matted and a ‘shave-off’ is required then a consent form will be provided to the customer to sign. All information regarding a ‘shave-off’ is in the consent form. 

 

• Finally we take lots of photos for social media! Please make sure you ask me to keep your dog private as otherwise we will assume it is okay to post their gorgeous grooms!!
